Lagniappe Steak and Seafood

Lagniappe Steak and Seafood is one of our all-time favorite restaurants.  Not only is it close enough to The River House to visit in the golf cart, but it also has amazing food, a sophisticated yet semi-casual environment, and great outdoor seating on the river where you can often listen to live music while you dine and enjoy the scenery.  During some weekends during crawfish season, you can even chat with the chef as he does a traditional boil on the patio.  Don’t miss the opportunity to check out this local favorite!

Diversion Pizza

Located in the same shopping center behind Sarita’s this is one of our favorite places to go for pizza. Seriously, it’s so good! They have excellent specials (check them out on Wednesdays!), and excellent pizza. They also boast a fully stocked bar for the adults to enjoy. It’s close by, so stop in to dine in or pick up. Can’t go wrong here! They are actually super fast with pick up orders so if you want to make sure your pizza is fresh we recommend waiting to call your order in when you get to the Three Rivers Island parking lot. Then head straight to the restaurant to pick it up. Just a little insiders tip!

Sarita's

Try out Sarita’s if you are in the mood for Mexican!  They feature excellent food and margaritas and even have frequent live music!  🙂

DiCarlo's Food & Spirits

DiCarlo’s Food & Spirits in the new ownership of what used to be Kevin’s on the river. It’s located right over the bridge across from Lagniappe Steak & Seafood.

Hill Top Inn Restaurant

Located on the Diversion Canal, this restaurant is a long-time staple.  Serving lunch and dinner throughout the week, this is one of the best places to stop if you are in the mood for a hamburger!  They also have gas pumps on the water if you need to fill up your boat.

The Coffee House

This is one of our all-time favorite breakfast places, although they are good any time of the day.  Try out their stuffed beignets for a special treat! (There traditional beignets are always a winner too!)  And let’s not forget their shrimp etouffee omelette.  *Chefs Kiss*

The Coffee House is a slightly longer drive, at 20 minutes, but it is located in the center of the Cajun Village, a cute locally owned group of shops full of souvenirs, candy, and locally made pottery.  Also, if you haven’t gotten your fill of alligators at The River House, there is a viewing area at the Cajun Village to see a few alligators from a safe fenced-in distance.

New Orleans Daiquiris

Louisiana is one of the only states that offers drive-thru daiquiris shops!  This shop is only 3 miles away located on HWY 22 near the River Highland’s subdivision.  Take advantage and bring back an ice cool daiquiris to enjoy on The River House boat dock!
