Three Rivers Island Community Pool
Three River Island has a small community pool that is a short walk or golf cart ride away! Get ready to enjoy the swamp in luxury. Occasionally, the pool will be closed for maintenance by the Three Rivers Island HOA, and we apologize if this happens during your stay! This is for the safety of the residents and guests of the Island, and we aren’t able to provide any refunds or accommodations if this happens.
The Cajun Village
The Cajun Village is located about 20 minutes from The River House in Sorrento. This group of local shops has everything – souvenirs, t-shirts, home decorations, candy, a restaurant (The Coffee House), and even an alligator. This is our go-to stop for gifts! And if you haven’t had traditional Louisiana beignets, you can not miss your opportunity! The Coffee House has you covered!
Houmas House Plantation
Only about a 25 minute drive from the River House, Houmas House stands majestically near the Mississippi River. This plantation tour is wonderfully historic and beautiful, and is also home to several high end and very tasty restaurants.
Cajun Pride Swamp Tours
Located about 40 minutes from The River House in Laplace, this swamp tour is worth the drive! From holding baby gators to watching the giant mama gator chow down on some lunch, this tour is hard to beat. The guides are knowledgeable and make this boat ride extra fun. Keep in mind that wildlife are less active during the colder months, so this tour is ideal in warmer weather.
Tanger Outlet Mall
People come from all over Louisiana to visit the outlet mall. With shops like Nike, Osh Kosh, Addidas, Banana Republic, and many more, there is something for everyone. Tanger Outlet Mall is about a 25 minute drive from the River House.
Malco Movie Theater
If you are looking for a night out, Malco Movie Theatre is about a 20 minute drive into Gonzales. Located in the same shopping center as Premier Lanes Bowling and Arcade, you can easily spend several hours on this excursion.
Premier Lanes Bowling Alley and Arcade
The Premier Lanes Bowling Alley and Arcade has fun for everyone. Bowling, games, bumper cars, laser maze, and even a sky course. The food is actually really good as well plus there is a full bar for the adults to enjoy. Located in the same shopping center as the Malco Theatre, this entertainment venue is only about 20 minutes away from the River House.
